Oh Ankle Boots...

I recently bought a pair of ankle boots, my first ever pair of boots for that matter. I have extremely slender ankles and finding any boot that doesn't wobble around has been impossible, until yesterday. I walked into marshalls hoping to find one of those great sneaky buys and of course I found it. They are suede boots, originally $200 for $45, black and very low, they are the folded over kind, and also very basic, which is what I like, less detail to mess up. When I got home I was so excited! I love to wear dresses and skirts and skinny jeans. To my dismay, skinny jeans and this particular cut of boot don't match, and then straight leg as well.
I then came to ask myself: What does one where with ankle boots? I found a lot, and not just for myself.

First, did you already buy the boots, or are you looking for the perfect pair. If you are looking for the perfect pair, figure out what style clothes you often wear. It could lots of skinny jeans, flared boot cut, short skirts, knee length dresses. Once you've figure that out, consider the shape of your body vs what you wear, then you can find the perfect pair.

Okay! These are the few general styles of ankle boots out there, obviously the design, detail and patterns greatly very, but what to look for is the height of the boot, the height of the heel, the toe.

Boot #2 it's height (where is falls on your leg) is a little high. To maximize this look, you want to establish what you're willing to wear. Leggings will look great, along with any type of short clothing (mid thigh preferable) and of course skinny jeans. Full, curvy women can pull this look off very nicely.

Boot #8 + #9 these will look best with mid length skirts, cropped leggings or short skirts (honestly, short skirts will would with any boot). If you're curvy, the mid length dress might not be idea, because it has a shortening effect. Same goes for the cropped leggings.

This is an excelent look for slender legs. The high waisted skirt adds much illusion as to the length of the leg, and the high socks with the knee/slightly above the knee puff skirt give the right about of exposure.

Ultimately, you just need to try on tons and tons of boots, with many different outfits to get a sense of what will and won't look good with your style. Everyone is different :)

Sleep in, Stay up late?

Going to bed at 3, 4, 5am? Tired, sleepy, grumpy during the day? F.lux is a program for your computer that adjusts the screen depending on the time of day which makes you feel naturally more tired, the dimmer it gets.

http://www.stereopsis.com/flux/

There are a lot of customizable features and dimmers you're in control of, so don't worry about it being noon and the screen adjusting to 11pm. It's also pretty lightweight, and in about a week or so, you'll probably start to feel naturally more tired the later it gets!

Perfect dress

Finding the perfect dress can be quite a challenge to the average shopper. For one, if you're casual shopping, you probably don't want anything at all, maybe that 'perfect fit'. But how exactly do you determine a perfect fit, better yet, once you've found it, is it in your color, price range? These are things to take into consideration when choosing an outfit. Don't be afraid to try clothes on, the girls working in the store are being paid to not only help you find and buy an outfit, but to assist in anything you may need. Asking them for opinions can go either way depending on their experience and style, possibly take a look around, find a girl (or guy) who gives off that sense of style and appearance you'd also like to convey.

Some quick tips to keep in mind when shopping are:
  1. Always be aware of how much you're willing to spend vs average price of the dress you're looking to buy
  2. Think of colors, prints and designs ahead of time (solid black, white and florals, mesh and satin)
  3. What size are you, and what store will carry your size (age appropriate vs size and style)
Those are just the key points. Looking online ahead of time will almost always save you hours of wondering at the mall. If you need a cocktail dress, it's best to know which mall you're going to, and browse those stores online websites.

Shopping can be fun and easy, especially once you've given thought to actually finding that perfect dress

wat

inception

Inception is a well-made movie, filmed in about 6 locations all over the world. The directing was outstanding, there were only about two moments, maybe three seconds in total, where i noticed that visual effects were being used (of course defying gravity is pretty difficult).

The plot was very pleasingly intricate, with a twist-and-turn, keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat type feel. I noticed that this film had similarities with DiCaprios thriller Shutter Island (which i also enjoyed very much)seeing as it left you wondering what was real and what was not. It's great to see a movie with a thick and emotional plot and not just grenade-throwing action heroes who achieve greatness in the end.

Inception also has a very well-composed score, which to me was the finishing touch to a perfect movie. If you're thinking about seeing Inception, definitely go!

Truly unique, like nothing I've ever seen before. Christopher Nolan certainly covered new ground with this film and wasn't afraid to leave us hanging with a spectacular ending.

thanks imdb!
